Activities of the injured

Since I'm still fighting with a back injury I seem to have a little more free time on my hands for:

A little light reading
Cupcake making to welcome our friends 9lb 13oz baby girl into this world
Some new paintings to go on the orange wall
I'm venturing outside on my bike for the first time in over 3 weeks today! The back is getting better but there is no way I will be in top shape for the ITU Cross Worlds in 2 weeks. I've gone back and forth for weeks about not going and maybe even shed some tears. However, I have come to accept that I will have no expectations about my race and simply have fun. Somehow I always seem to have early season setbacks, which proves to make me fast and not burned out by the end of the season when it really matters. Let's hope this year will be the same!
